SPF means Specific Pathogen Free and is a a Danish company, which is independent of commercial interests in the turnover and transport of pigs.

The task of SPF is to control and develop the SPF-system and to declare the health status in all pig herds. When purchasing breeding stock from Denmark the SPF health status is of utmost importance for you.

These diseases are declared by SPF - our Piétrain pigs are of course clear from those diseases:

• Mycoplasma pneumonia (Mycoplasma Hyopneumoniae)
• APP pneumonia (Antinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, sero type 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 12)
• PRRS (Porcin Respiratoric and Reproductive Syndrome)
• Swine dysenterica (Brachyspira hyodysenterica)
• Sarcoptes Scabiei var. Suis
• Lies (Haematopinus suis)
• Atrophic Rhinitis (toxin producing Pasteurella Multocida)

What makes our animals so special is that we have united a great German quality pig with the highest Danish health standard.

This means that if you are living in South America and consider buying train boars you will need to buy them from us, since we are the only ones who have export certificate to that continent.

• We are the only ones who can export purebred Piétrain to the Americas and all of Asia.

• You can also buy animals from us if you live in Europe and only if you demand to get the highest health status.

• Our animals give you an assurance of quality and purity.

The delivery time depends a lot on how many boars you want and where in the world you live.

Generally, we can fairly quickly draw up a contract and put the animals in quarantine. After approximately 1½ months they will be driven or flown from Denmark and then arrive in the new country.

The length of quarantine period in the receiving country is very different. In the EU you determine yourself, but often it’s about 30 days. In South and North America it will be least 1 month.
